NODUMP This program will clear the BUGDUMP bit in EXE$GL_FLAGS to inhibit the system from writing a system dump file as the result of an operator requested shutdown. This program is especially handy if you are running on a system with lots of memory. To use this program, copy it to SYS$MANAGER, and add a line to the file SYS$MANAGER:SYSHUTDWN.COM to run this program. You will also have to specify to SHUTDOWN that you wish to invoke the site specific shutdown procedure. You will be amazed at how fast the system will shutdown when it doesn't have to write all of it's memory to the dump file. Brian Catlin Jim Gray 4-MAY-1990
