Telnet For Appletalk -------------------- 8th June 1990 A version of NCSA Telnet for Appletalk is available on zaphod.ncsa.uiuc.edu (via anonymous FTP) in the contributions directory. It is in a file called appletalk.tar.Z. A readme file is called readme.appletalk. Another copy is also there called appletlk.zip, in case you don't have access to tar or uncompress. This is a modification of version 2.2. I am not aware of any 2.3 versions that support appletalk. I don't know if there is a packet driver. The source for this version is a combintion of Tim Krauskopf's appletalk patch "ltalk.tar.Z" and the Clarkson version of NCSA telnet (available on omnigate.clarkson.edu) plus several of my own patches. I am running this version on a IBM AT clone (MS-DOS 3.3) with a TOPS Flashcard connected to an Appletalk network (all the other machines on the net are Mac's). The Appletalk net is connected to an Ethernet backbone via a Webster Multigate. We have subnetted the Ethernet and this version handles it well (that was a problem with earlier versions). Another department on campus is using Apple PC Localtalk cards with equal success. This version does support FTP fully. Previous versions froze when FTP was invoked.
