This document describes the VAX/VMS installation procedure and lists restrictions and bugs known at time of release. .skip 7 .lit SYSTEM SUPPORTED: VAX/VMS 3.5 or higher SOFTWARE VERSION: VAX DIGS V3.00 KEYWORDS: GRAPHICS, DIGS, VMS .end lit .page .send toc .b 5 .send toc .c;^&Table of Contents\& .ifnot toc .require "rn4.rnt" .endif toc .page .chapter INSTALLATION GUIDE .header level Contents .paragraph The DIGS distribution kit consists of one volume, either magnetic tape or mountable disk, labeled DIGS. This volume contains a single BACKUP save set DIGS.BCK, which contains all the distribution files from the Fermilab LIB:[LIB.DIGS] directories. The LIB:[LIB.DIGS]EXPORT procedure is used to generate this distribution save-set. .header level Directory Structure .paragraph The DIGS support files are located under the FNAL::LIB:[LIB.DIGS] directory in the Fermilab Central Computing Facility VAX/VMS system. The DIGS package occupies several subdirectories of this root directory, as listed below. If you are installing DIGS on a system where [LIB.DIGS] cannot be created, you may place the files under any other appropriate directory; DIGS maintenance procedures do not depend on the name of this root directory. .nofill .nojustify .skip 1 [DIGS] GRALIB library, PREVU and PRINTPP procedures [DIGS.DOC] Users Guide and Installation Guide [DIGS.MAINT] Program maintenance procedures [DIGS.PP] Source code for graphics processors [DIGS.SOURCE] Source code for all programs .fill .justify .header level Installation Procedure Create a directory under LIB:[LIB.DIGS] to hold the new version of DIGS. The directory name should reflect the release of DIGS being copied; for example, DIGS300 .chapter RELEASE NOTES .hl Non-essential files All files in the [DIGS.*] subdirectories may be deleted without affecting the usage of the DIGS package. This will save approximately 1200 blocks of disk space. .hl PREVU control The command parser for PREVU and the other post processor PRINTPP, treats single blanks as significant separators. The Cyber version of DIGS treats multiple blanks as a single separator. The VAX version may be modified to conform with this usage in a future maintenance release.
