Hi, We are proud to anounce the newest member of the Beholder ethernet monitoring family, The Spectre. The Spectre is developed by Marc, and is used in our neural network based 'intelligent' network application. We are trying to build a system that will detect errors in the network without polling the managed nodes. The Specter is a Beholder application that measures the behaviour of a configurable set of ethernet nodes. Behaviour includes info about connections, protocols used , interarrival times and packet lengths of the managed nodes. The Spectre will collect this information real time without interfering with the ethernet network. The Spectre presents its findings in two different ways. First there is an optional display presentation. Second, there is an SNMP based distribution of its findings. Users of existing Beholder applications like The Beholder and The Gobbler will be familiar with the user interface and SNMP interface of The Spectre. Take my word for it, The Spectre is So Great, it's Spooky :v) . Jan -- Ir.
