1. when retrieving an old version of a file, it creates multiple
versions of the temporary files.  This occurs because vms keeps old
versions.

2. When doing a rcsdiff in batch mode, vms/difference writes to some
other device than the command file.  No differences are reported to the
log. To do a mass difference in a batch job, you have to use some other
strategy.
