The sub-directory [.SNAPSHOT] contains a set of command files which, when executed, monitor various 'areas of interest' within the VMS system and reports any questionable areas found to the System Manager. This is a 'report by exception' approach and is quite helpful in assisting the System Manager keep in touch with the changes which occur on the system. The sub-directory [.IMAGE] contains a short command file which we use to take a VAX Accounting file with Image accounting turned on, and convert it to an accounting file without any Image records. This allows us to run all the time with Image accounting turned on, but keep only a selected number of 'days' of accounting files in the full Image format. The sub-directory [.SAFARI] contains a command file which, by making use of the VAX checksum command, will allow the System Manager to find a 'like' file somewhere else on the system even though the file has been renamed.
