ABSTRACT The VAX/VMS operating system is supplied with utilities that casual users may not be aware of. It is not always clear how to use these utilities from a high level language such as VAX Pascal. This paper explores the use of LIB$TPARSE, the librarian, RMS, the CLI callback, and the set message utility from a Pascal program. Examples and hints are shown. The use of these utilities can save program development time and produce better quality software.
