Program: HOST Version: 2.07 Document: PU0065 Author: Tanenbaum (Harvard) Czar: KREYMER Date: 19-MAY-1986 Fermilab Applications Group 7 April 1986 HOST allows a VAX terminal to be used to communicate with other computers over an outgoing port selector or modem line. Both session logging, and bidirectional file transfer is supported. No form of error detection or correction during file transfer is supported. The HOST program was originally written by William Tanenbaum of Harvard University, and has been enhanced and developed by a number of persons, including Vicky White of Fermilab. When used at Fermilab, the [LIB]HOST procedure will select the next available outgoing port, start up the HOST session, and do appropriate cleanup after the HOST session. The source files and maintenance procedures are contained in this [LIB.HOST] directory. The [LIB.HOST]SETUP procedure may be used to define a HOST symbol, so that HOST may be invoked by name.
