OPRSOS is for creating files with records extracted from the OPERATOR.LOGs. The program pretty much becomes pretty much obsolete with VMS 5.0 or VMS 5.2 with some of the new features, however, some reports could still be useful. The program uses indexed files to match up begin and end times to make a more easily read report. Due to intense number of I/O operations the program may run for long periods of time. Since it takes a while for this program to run, it is advised to run it in batch. To allow the program to have a shorter run time, we also start a new OPERATOR.LOG every day. This might not be needed for smaller systems (We have hundreds of users). The files and what they are as follows: A.COM - A procedure that was used for searching one particular node. OPRSOS.CLD - The command file for OPRSOS. OPRSOS.EXE - The executable for OPRSOS. OPRSOS.FOR - The source code. RUNSOS.COM - a file used to run at midnight in a batch job for certain qualifiers. SOS.COM - an interactive command file. It has been a while since I have looked at the program, but it still seems to work up to specifications.
