Selected remote newreader software from the archive on KRYPTON.ARC.NASA.GOV
have been shadowed here against its disappearance.  They are "owned by"
John Howells <howells@earth.arc.nasa.gov>.

NNTP-DIST-1-3.BCK - backup save set containing latest version of the NNTP
	newsreader. You will need FIXREC.EXE in order to convert the record
	size after transferring (see comments in FIXREC.C). Intended for 
	WINS TCP/IP, but will work with	CMU TCP/IP if you use the 
	NEWSCMU.SHAR mods. Also is known to work with MultiNet. Use binary 
	mode to transfer.

NNTP-DIST-1-2.BCK - version 1.2 of the above newsreader. Binary mode to
	transfer.

VNEWS_WINS.BCK - version 1.3 specifically for WINS TCP/IP. Use binary 
	mode to transfer.

VNEWS_MULTINET.BCK - version 1.3 specifically for MultiNet TCP/IP. Note
	that either of the WINS or MultiNet executables will work on
	any system running either of the two TCP/IP packages. The MultiNet
	version links with a different library than the WINS version - 
	that's the main difference. Use binary mode to transfer.

NNTP.SHAR - nntp news reader for Wollongong WINS TCP/IP (original version). 
	VMS_SHARE format. This is an ascii file containing both the 
	original source code and the initial modifications. To use 
	CMU TCP/IP you will need to transfer NEWSCMU.SHAR. Use ascii 
	mode to transfer.

NEWSCMU.SHAR - modifications to the above for CMU TCP/IP. VMS_SHARE format.
	Use ascii mode to transfer.
