Currently implemented functions are: - read, and optionally set variables in, the COMMAND.COM environment of the PC - reboot the PC (cold or warm) - display the names of files open on the PC - show the PC's screen once - type keystrokes to the remote PC while observing the screen (effectively taking over control); this is only available if monitoring from a PC, not a VAX terminal. If anyone is interested in this I will post it. This is an ongoing development effort, uses some extremely dubious programming techniques, and may well crash your PC. On the other hand if you need to provide support to users across the other side of a large building (or just want to spy on your boss) you might find it interesting. ================================================================================ Note 200.1 PC spy program 1 of 3 DECUSF::BROWN_N "Nick BROWN, Conseil de l'Europe" 5 lines 28-AUG-1991 16:39 -< Enjoy... >- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, 1 person asked for it by mail, so I have posted it anyway. Look in PUB:[PC]SMILEY.*. There is a .DOC file and some source code (not all, as the TSR is a bit of smart coding which I would rather did not end up as the basis of some commercial product. Perhaps I am being a bit too proud of my work...) ================================================================================ Note 200.2 PC spy program 2 of 3 DECUSF::BROWN_N "Nick BROWN, Conseil de l'Europe" 2 lines 4-OCT-1991 12:36 -< New version >- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New version of SMILEY (0.42) posted today, fixes problem when SETting in environments bigger than 512 bytes. ================================================================================ Note 200.3 PC spy program 3 of 3 DECUSF::BROWN_N "Nick BROWN, Conseil de l'Europe" 5 lines 22-OCT-1991 14:10 -< New version of MOLE >- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New version of MOLE (0.43) posted today. Now works with DOS 4 (used to give funny results with SMILEY command FILES), and should work with DOS 5 (not tested). I have also provided the source code of MOLE (all rights reserved).
