<<< DISK$DATA:[NOTES$LIBRARY]PC.NOTE;2 >>> -< SIG PC >- ================================================================================ Note 239.0 Useful stuff for LK250 owners No replies DECUSF::BROWN_N "Nick BROWN, Conseil de l'Europe" 21 lines 8-NOV-1991 10:15 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have posted in PUB:[PC] the saveset LK250.BCK and its COMPRESSed version, LK250.BCK_Z. This is a kit of useful programs and documentation for anyone suffering from problems with LK250 keyboards, mainly on PCs, but possibly of interest to people with VAXmates. For example: - save 4600 bytes of memory on a PC with a non-US LK250 (1800 bytes with a US version). - save another 2400 bytes with a non-US keyboard if you don't mind not being able to use the US mappiings via Ctrl-Alt-F2/3, and don't need the dead keys. - use Compose in any DOS program to make almost any code page 437 character (like you can do on the VAXmate). - fix a bug whereby DECKEYB will not go resident one time in 256. - fix a bug on certain PCs (eg DECstation 316) whereby many LK250 keys produce the wrong codes, shift gets stuck, etc etc. - write your own keyboard mappings. Enjoy !
