USERCOUNT

I am hoping that the help file is sufficient in explaining this one.  We use
it at login to inform users that they already have an interactive session in
progress (for security reasons).  When the LOGIN parameter is supplied, a
logical SYS$LOGINS is set to the number of "other" interactive sessions.  It
is this logical that is checked to display the banner pertaining to having
multiple interactive sessions.  It is also used at logout time to inform 
users that they still are logged into the system.

It is not in a higher language because of time constraints.
