UPGRADING FROM MX V3.0 TO V3.0A ------------------------------- The MX030 installation kit in this directory contains revision level A of MX V3.0. If you already have MX V3.0 installed on your system, you can upgrade it to rev level A by getting the MX_REVA_UPGRADE030 installation kit and applying that to your MX installation. To install the UPGRADE kit, first shut down any MX processes running anywhere on your system or cluster. If you are running Jnet with MX, you should also do a Jnet warm stop (@JAN_SYS:JANSTOP WARM) prior to the MX upgrade. Then use VMSINSTAL to apply the update, and follow the instructions presented there: $ @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL MX_REVA_UPGRADE030 disk:[directory] The release notes included in the upgrade kit have a chapter listing the bugs fixed by the revision A update. NOTE: Once you upgrade to rev A, your original MX030 distribution kit cannot be used to install optional components without re-installing all of MX. You should get an updated copy of the full MX distribution if you plan to add optional components at a later date, or install those options from your original distribution kit BEFORE applying the rev A upgrade.
