If you have Multinet, you can use the file MULTINET:SMTP_ALIASES:

	group1:		person1@node1,
			person2@node2,
			...
			personN@nodeN;

	group2:		...

	full_group:	group1,
			group2;


and send email to (e.g.,)

	To: smtp%"full_group"

Or the system manager can set a mail forwarding address:

	MAIL> set forward/user=full_group smtp%"full_group"

and then users can just mail to

	To: full_group


NOTE: this means that the system manager must get into the business of
maintaining the distribution lists!

At our site we modified MULTINET:USER_SMTP_DISPATCH.C to use a logical name
search-list MULTINET_SMTP_ALIASES.  Then the system manager needs to get in
the business of maintaining a system-wide logical name (list of "Officially
Approved" distribution lists), but individual users can be assigned
responsibility for maintaining the separate files in the list.
