Article 31712 of dec.notes.networking.internet_tools: Title: Netscape security and SSL protocol Reply Title: (none) >Well Netscape cetainly has ported it to Windows NT and Digital UNIX. Of course; I don't know what I was thinking... We'd need it on OpenVMS too, though. >I don't know whether the server ports to VMS have been done yet. Are you refering to Netscape web servers? I'm really just interested in a library I can link against to get SSL functionality in my application. I found a public domain SSL implementation (as a library, called SSLeay), which has apparently been used successfully in several public domain web servers (Apache, NCSA) and popular applications (e.g. FTP, Telnet, and so on). The library is freely available to use by anyone for any purpose, import concerns and licensing of unerlying technologies being the responsibility of the user. See http://www.psy.uq.edu.au:8080/~ftp/Crypto/ for much more info on it. It looks promising, but I'm not pinning my hopes on it yet. -Mark
