His announcement is enclosed at the end of this message. I've added this kit to my ftp server: ftp://ftp2.kcl.ac.uk/cmu-tcpip/cmuip665k.bck If you have any problems with this kit, I suggest you notify clive directly (let the list know too for information). Let me stress that this patch kit is NOT part of the official CMU distribution; use it at your own risk! Regards, Andy Harper Kings College London CMU-OpenVMS-IP 6.6-5K CMU-OpenVMS-IP 6.6-5K is built from available 6.6-5 sources and fixes a number of very annoying (some long standing) bugs in 6.6-5 . This K (for Kludge) release is meant as a teaser for the release of 6.7, which I have no control over. This kit provides images linked against VMS 6.1 so should be usable on VMS 6.1 or higher. These images are compatible with those of 6.6-5 and can be mixed and matched. One should only use those images that fixes a problem you are experiencing or provide new functionallity you need (ie for LIBCMUII). You need to copy each selected file to the correct directory, for IPACP.EXE or IPDRIVER.EXE you will need to shutdown then restart CMUIP. Directory [.SYS$LDR] IPDRIVER.EXE Fixes a problem which will crash your system if IPDRIVER is passed any unimplemented IO command via a qio. Directory [.SYSEXE] IPACP.EXE Fixes: i) the "telnet pause" problem, althought .... ii) the allocation of wildcarded local ports. iii) various problems related to the "BTS" error. IPNCP.EXE Fixes: i) RRFETCH. ii) unixstat to give names to ports from the netdb. iii) enhances HOSTNM functionality. iv) NFS, but it maybe broken again :-). Requires LIBCMUII's VAXC_RTL_SHR.EXE (to provide enhanced unixstat functionality). TELNET.EXE Adds the syntax "telnet[/port=portnumber] host [portnumber] to make it look more like *nix, mainly for DEC's NCSA Mosaic, see also TELNET.CLD . Directory [.SYSLIB] CSDRV.EXE Directory [.SYSMGR] TELNET.CLD Adds the syntax "telnet[/port=portnumber] host [portnumber] to make it look more like *nix, mainly for DEC's NCSA Mosaic, see also TELNET.EXE . You can install the TELNET.CLD into the system DCL TABLES with the following commands. $set command /table=sys$common:[syslib]dcltables - $ /output=sys$common:[syslib]dcltables TELNET.CLD $install replace sys$common:[syslib]dcltables
