   The shareable image cookbook covers the basics, the creation, and
   the common pitfalls of shareable images -- for both the OpenVMS VAX
   and the OpenVMS Alpha platforms.

   I'd also look at porting out of Macro and into another language,
   such as C, C++, Fortran, etc.
