Article 159075 of comp.os.vms: The next release (2.7-5) of the VMS port of NCSA X Mosaic is now available at ftp://wvnvms.wvnet.edu/mosaic/mosaic2_7-5.zip Once it is unzipped, information on how to build it is in file README.VMS-2_7-5. The build requires a C compiler (DEC C, VAX C or VAX GNU C v2.7.1) and supports UCX, MultiNet, Pathway, CMU via LIBCMUII, and SOCKETSHR/NETLIB. Although the build supports all versions of Motif from 1.1 forward, the recommended versions of Motif are 1.2-3 with ECO kit 7 and 1.2-4. The file README.BUGS in the anonymous ftp mosaic directory on wvnvms.wvnet.edu contains the latest information on any bugs and bug fixes for this release; please check it before reporting problems. Please note that this port of Mosaic is a completely separate effort from any porting work being done by Digital and is not related to the port provided as part of DECwindows Motif. NCSA is actively involved in this port and is currently in the process of including the VMS changes in the base NCSA X Mosaic code. This release is, for the most part, bug for bug compatible with NCSA Mosaic 2.7b5. In particular, the HTML table support works exactly as it does in the official NCSA Mosaic 2.7b5 release (i.e., it is badly broken). Table support is disabled by default but can be enabled on the fly with the "Table Support" option setting. The most visible change in this release is a much improved news reader which includes support for newsrc files.
